The Canadian Border Outfitters Big Fish Invitational 2008

Catch, Measure, Photograph, and after a Live Release write down your experience. The biggest fish of the year will win a replica mount of the winning fish. There will be one replica mount awarded for each of the following species.

1.  Walleye Min. Length 24"
2.  Smallmouth Bass Min. Length 20"
3.  Northern Pike Min. Length 38"
4.  Lake Trout Min. Length 20"
We need pictures of a live fish showing the length measurement (nose to tail not to include the length of the lure) the girth (at its widest point not to include your hand) and the live release (In the water).

Along with the pictures you must submit the form attached no later than 14 days after your canoe trip has ended. You may download pictures in the CBO office before you leave if you wish.

The contest begins May 10th for all species to coincide with the Minnesota fishing season. The contest will officially come to a close on Tuesday, September 30, 2008. The winner will be announced on www.canoetrip.com on or before October 31st.

Of course the rights to photos and stories submitted to the 2008 Tournament Facilitator (CBO and or its Agents) will become the property of CBO and may be used for public distribution. This may include but not limited to distortion by modern digital technology and the subsequent distribution to friends, foes, spouses (and other bosses) that are part of the winners immediate circle of influence.

Tell us about your experience with this fish. What were the events leading up to your encounter? Where (approximately) did the encounter take place? Would you share the type and name of the lure or bait that you used to initiate the contact with this fish? Describe your feelings when you first realized that you were pulling in a load. What was the reaction of the rest of your encounter crew? Did you win anything else with this encounter (from other members of your crew)? What was it like to release the beast back into its natural environment?
